In order to be in compliance with the DOT substance abuse testing regulations, ODTNE has developed a drug-testing consortium to meet your company’s needs. We offer this program only to companies that will fully comply with the Federal DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations. All requirements of the drug and alcohol program must be in place or under development at the time of entrance to our Consortium.
We offer:
- Maintenance of random pool of employees.
- Random selection of employees – 50% for drug, 10% for alcohol. (FAA-25% for drugs, 10% for alcohol)
- Quarterly and year-end summary of drug and alcohol tests to facilitate record keeping requirements.
- Drug and alcohol testing policies.
- Mandatory blind samples for quality control.
- Nationwide collection sites.
- Tracking of DOT med card expirations.
The mandatory employee and supervisory training is also available at an additional cost. Several options are available to meet this requirement. All owner operators are required to belong to a consortium, have a drug policy, and a driver qualification file..
Consortium Rules
- No employee enters the consortium pool unless a pre-employment negative result has been filed with ODTNE (whether or not ODTNE performs the pre-employment drug screen).
- All testing will be done in accordance with the DOT Regulations.
NOTE: A mandatory fee will be charged to employer for each drug screen not completed by the last day of each quarter in order to maintain equity for the rest of the consortium members.
